1: I can't open the web page of my SPA-2100 even if I can
ping it?
A: By default, Web access from the WAN port is disabled. This is
a typical behaviour of
any standard router out there. To enable it, you can press
option 7932# from your analog
phone or by connecting your PC to SPA's LAN port and change the
WAN setting via Web GUI.
Once connected this way, your pc will get an IP addr. of
192.168.0.2, and you can
make a http connection to the SPA-2100's LAN port which has IP
addr. of 192.168.0.1
2: My T.38 Fax connection seems to be unrealiable, what is
there to debug?
A: T.38 Fax is only supported on the the SPA 2102. To optimize
fax completion rates, please review the following instructions:
- Please upgrade the SPA's firmware to the latest version
- Make sure you have enough bandwidth for uplink and downlink.
For G711 fallback, it is recommend to have ~100Kbps. To T.38,
please allocate at least 50 kps.
G711 Settings:
To optimize G711 fallback fax completion rates, please use the
following settings in the SPA's Line tabs:
- network jitter buffer - very high
- Jitter buffer adjustment - disable
- Call Waiting: no
- 3 Way Calling: no
- Echo Canceller: no
- Silence suppression: no
- Preferred Codec: G711
- Use pref. codec only: yes
If you are using a Cisco media gateway for PSTN termination,
please disable T.38 (fax relay) and enable fax using modem
passthrough.
Here is an example
...
modem passthrough nse payload-type 110 codec g711alaw
fax rate disable
fax protocol pass-through g711alaw
T38 Settings:
For T.38 fax (only on the SPA 2102), please enable the feature
on the GUI or via provisioning by setting FAX_Passthru_Method to
ReINVITE, under the Line tabs. Please note that if a T.38 call
cannot be set-up, then the call should automatically revert to
G711 fallback.
